Faculty Accomplishments

  • Greg Bradley, Ph.D., former dean of the Graduate School, has been named Vice President of the Office of Research and Dean of Institutional Research. Dr. Heather Frederick, former Dean of the School of Psychology and Vice President of Academic Affairs, has been named Dean of the Graduate School.
  • Tara Lehan, Ph.D. (Director of Assessment), Eva Mika, Ph.D. (Assistant Dean) and Heather Hussey, Ph.D. (Director of Research Curriculum) co-wrote two presentations: “The Shifting Roles and Positions of Students and Faculty Members across the Online Doctoral Education,” and “Best Practices Related to Evaluation of Online Instruction,” which were presented at the EdMedia 2014 World Conference on Educational Media and Technology in Tampere, Finland. They also led a panel presentation discussing women leaders in higher education at the 122nd APA Convention in Washington, D.C.
  • Jennifer Duffy O’Connor’s, Ph.D. (Dissertation Chair) paper, “Critical Pedagogical Reflections,” was published in Pedagogy and Human Sciences: Best Practices in Student Engagement: Motivation, Strategy and Beyond, as was “A Non-traditional Model for Female Faculty in Work/Life balance in Women in Higher Education.” In June, they presented Retaining Low-Income and Working-Class Women at the National Association of Student Affairs Professional Assessment and Retention Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
  • Linda Cummins, Ph.D. (Dissertation Chair) presented her paper “Elder Care and the Ethic of Care: A film and Policy Analysis,” at the Policy 2.0 conference held in May, in Austin, Texas. In addition, she is co-authoring the 4th edition of Social Work Skills for Beginning Direct Practice textbook, workbook, and web-based interactive case studies.
