Helpful Resources for NCU Students
You’ve Got (NCU) Mail
Since we rolled out the Courseroom to all NCU students, you’ve shared your excitement at having a dedicated NCU student email account. However, many of you have also shared your frustration at not being able to tell if you had new email.
As of the end of December 2014, any new email will be indicated on your Courseroom home page. The number of new emails you have will be displayed in a small red circle just above the link to your NCU email account.
More Resources, More Available Librarians and Even More Mobile,
The NCU Library!
91% noted that there is a diverse selection of reference materials.*
The Library Services Team at NCU is comprised of experienced and knowledgeable librarians, who, in the past several months, have reorganized NCU’s library resources to ensure they are easier to locate and continued to add new research databases to a diverse and relevant collection that includes SAGE Journals Online, ProQuest, EBSCOhost, and 100,000+ full-text e-books. The librarians are also available, as part of extended evening and weekend hours, to answer student, faculty and alumni research questions.
2014 Library Satisfaction Survey
This October the University conducted its annual Library Survey. Almost 20% of NCU’s students, faculty and alumni shared their feedback on the Library and its newest services. Aggregated feedback included the following highlights*:
- 88% of respondents indicated that the Library website is easy to use
- 92% of active students noted that the Library is an important part of their satisfaction with NCU
- 95% of active students noted the Library is one reason they have continued their studies at NCU
- 92% of respondents agreed that Library databases supported their subject area research while 91% noted that there is a diverse selection of reference materials
- 90% of alumni respondents shared that the Library services and resources are an important part of their continued lifelong learning
While we are thrilled with this positive feedback, the Library Services team at NCU is committed to continually expanding the research resources and support provided to NCU students, faculty and alumni (who have library access post-graduation).

The NCU Library, 2.0
The next step in the evolution of our library included updating the technology underlying the library and refreshing the design of its home page. As of today, the NCU library is now mobile friendly. Please note, several library resources are provided through third party resources, and, while we are working with them, their pages may not be mobile friendly yet. Additionally, you’ll find a more streamlined home page and navigation structure that includes quick access to library tutorials, information on NCU library hours, and how to contact a librarian – features students, faculty and alumni have been asking for.
Finding the New Library
To ensure our new library design meets the needs of students, faculty and alumni, we are testing the new library design while keeping the existing design available. You can access the new NCU Library here: My.NCU.edu > Library > Check “Out the New Library Website” and the current library, at My.NCU.edu > Library
